Lavish Living with a Legacy

Lavinia’s charming history goes as far back as the 1800’s, when settlers John and Lavinia Rockwell chose this location on the isthmus as the ideal spot to build their homestead.

The Rockwells played a key role in establishing numerous foundational aspects of Oconomowoc, including a grist mill, the inaugural store, hotels, the fire department, an elementary school, and a library. They also contributed land for the community’s churches. Lavinia by the Lakes was proudly named after the Rockwells in honor of their legacy and its lasting impact on our Lake Country communities.
